Head to head
Bleap vs MetaMask Card
The two simplest self-custodial debit cards. Both pay 1% base in a stablecoin, but only Bleap adds no FX markup: MetaMask’s free tier charges 1% on any merchant outside your country. Bleap also adds category bonuses, free ATM withdrawals and a MiCA licence; MetaMask wins on convenience if the wallet is already your home.

Where the difference comes from
Two 1% stablecoin debit cards that look alike on the table and behave differently at the till. Bleap charges no FX markup in any currency; MetaMask’s free tier charges 1% on purchases from merchants outside your country, which turns a 1% card into a 0% card for travel and for anyone in a non-euro country. The Romania rows above are that effect in numbers.
Beyond fees, Bleap adds category bonuses of 3% and 20%, free ATM withdrawals, a MiCA licence from the Bank of Latvia and coverage of the EEA plus Switzerland but not the UK. MetaMask’s advantage is that there is nothing to set up if the wallet is already your home, and it is offered across the EU and Latin America, though UK and US sign-ups are paused. If you spend at home in the eurozone, they are close; if you spend abroad or in lei, forint or francs, Bleap wins outright.
