Nº 5 For Bybit traders
Bybit Card EU review
A MiCA-licensed exchange card with the biggest advertised number in Europe — and the most asterisks attached to it.
Bybit's EEA Mastercard, issued from its MiCA-licensed Austrian entity, launched in late 2025 and moved fast: no annual fee, no mandatory staking, and since January 2026 cashback paid in Bitcoin or USDC — a genuinely nice touch versus exchange tokens. You spend straight from exchange balances across BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC and more. Since August 4, 2026, the default changed: ordinary EEA cardholders earn a flat 1% uncapped, while the 2–10% BTC ladder applies only to VIP tiers or heavy monthly spend.
The 10% headline needs top-tier VIP status or around $25,000 of monthly card spend; the realistic figure for most users is the flat 1%. Stack the 0.9% conversion fee plus 0.5% FX on non-EUR spend and the net rate shrinks further.
What works
- Cashback in BTC — your rewards can appreciate
- No annual fee; the flat 1% is uncapped
- MiCA-licensed issuer; Apple & Google Pay
- Spends directly from your exchange balance
What doesn't
- Flat 1% for most since Aug 2026 — the ladder needs VIP status or heavy spend
- 0.9% conversion + 0.5% FX quietly eat the reward
- Fully custodial — the exchange holds your coins
- Not available in Romania, Ireland, Croatia or Norway
Who it's for: active Bybit traders in supported countries who want their trading balance to double as spending money, and don't mind custodial risk.
