Nº 3 Best flat rate, capped
OKX Card review
The cleanest exchange card in Europe right now: 2% in a dollar stablecoin, no card or FX fees, and a MiCA-licensed operator behind a Lithuanian issuer. The catch is a €50 monthly cap that turns 2% into 1% at €5,000 of spending.
Licensing: the card is issued by UAB Monavate, an electronic money institution authorised by the Bank of Lithuania under licence LB002139, the same issuer behind Gnosis Pay and SwissBorg. OKX Europe Limited in Malta runs the programme as card manager and is licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA. Your card balance sits in an OKX Pay wallet, and the addendum says plainly that those balances carry no deposit-guarantee protection.
OKX launched the EEA card in January 2026 as a virtual Mastercard, with physical cards rolling out region by region through 2026. Since September 1 the ongoing cashback is 2% for everyone, capped at €50 per calendar month, which means the full rate applies to your first €2,500 of monthly spending and nothing above it. OKX VIP levels, earned through trading volume or holdings rather than staking, lift the rate to 4%, 4.5%, 5% and 10% with caps of €300 to €1,000. Cashback is paid in USDG, a dollar stablecoin, and only purchases funded with USDG earn it: pay from USDC or anything else and you get nothing.
The fee side is where it beats most rivals. There is no issuance, monthly, annual or inactivity fee, and OKX charges no foreign-exchange fee of its own on euro or other EEA-currency purchases. Because the balance is in dollars, a crypto liquidation fee of at most 0.10% applies to non-USD transactions, which in practice is every purchase a European makes. The calculator counts it. Physical-card ATM withdrawals carry a fee that OKX shows only in the app. Cash-like transactions, gambling and a short list of merchant categories are excluded from cashback.
What works
- 2% flat with no token, staking or subscription required
- No card, monthly or FX fees; conversion capped at 0.10%
- Paid in a dollar stablecoin, not an exchange token
- MiCA-licensed operator, Bank of Lithuania e-money issuer, EU plus Norway coverage
What doesn’t
- €50 monthly cap: 2% up to €2,500, then zero
- Only USDG-funded purchases earn; USDC and other assets do not
- Custodial; balances have no deposit protection
- Not offered in the UK, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein; ATM fee unpublished
Who it’s for: anyone in the EU or Norway spending up to about €2,500 a month who wants a flat 2% in stablecoins with no fees and is comfortable holding a balance on an exchange. Above that, Bleap or ether.fi keep earning where OKX stops.
